CASE STUDY: NREP 2019

Three years after we designed their last premises, it was time for NREP to find a new home in which to grow. We were delighted to be invited as their Interior Architect to design their new Esplanadi office in the prestigious heart of Helsinki. After a few iterations of test-fit planning, it was clear that this historic building was ideal to accommodate the generous meeting facilities they previously lacked, with lively workspaces and a cosy social kitchen to serve as the heart of their Helsinki operation.

NREP sought a solution that embodied the energy with which they operate: calm meeting spaces were combined with three dramatic themed spaces; one reflecting nature, one an industrial vibe and the third a classic country club. The work spaces are relaxed, Nordic and homely, with natural materials including oak flooring and planted walls. Acoustics were a design priority with felts and absorbent materials used throughout. Natural light is maximised by using a fresh palette, with some surprising and mysterious darker rooms providing the ideal to place to huddle, brainstorm and create.

NREP is a Nordic-wide multidisciplinary real estate company. NREP invest in and operate property, but also develop innovative products to better serve the community as a whole, including commercial, residential, healthcare and logistic concepts.
