our clients are not designers

Nor are they Workplace Experts.

Or Project Managers.

They’re Country Managers, People Leaders and Finance Directors. Who, somehow, in addition to their usual role, are expected to co-ordinate and deliver a Workplace Project.

Where do they start?

With our help and tools, they can:

  • develop a design brief
  • set goals and time line
  • evaluate their existing premises
  • survey their employees
  • engage their top management

Through change-management workshops they’re able to understand and manage employee expectations. With our tried-and-tested project programme they ensure the process stays on course, results are managed and the space is delivered. The result? A great new workspace and a happy and engaged team.

How we work - our process

Working with  dozens of clients has allowed us to develop rock-solid process. Nothing is left to chance, and we’re free to focus on creativity. There are five essential steps in every workplace project:

Step 1.

It begins with a simple introduction meeting. A chat to get to know each other. We’ll hear about your hopes and challenges. And we’ll tell you about how we work. Does the fit feel right? You can easily start this step now: Book a quick Zoom meeting with Robin through the link: there’s no cost and no obligation.

Together we set the time schedule and project targets, and review the budget. We’ll agree design review meetings and key checkpoints in the process. Often you’ll form a small steering group with other decision makers. We also help you form a ‘Change Champions’ group; a team comprising of interested individuals who represent the needs and hopes of all departments.

Kick- off

The design stage begins with conceptual sketches and reference pictures to establish the desired look and feel. The design progresses through many iterations, with regular design reviews and workshops. Ultimately we prepare construction drawings, specification documents and detailed lists in collaboration with electrical, lighting and HVAC designers, ready to send to suppliers for offers.

Step 3.

Requests for Proposals are sent to construction companies, carpenters, lighting suppliers, and graphical and signage companies. Their offers are reviewed, suppliers chosen and orders placed. The suppliers then get to work preparing for construction works, and producing the material ready for installation works.

Step 4.

Construction begins: demolition works are closely followed by the construction of new walls. Kitchen assembly teams and carpenters get to work next, with flooring, glass walls and painting following soon after. Regular construction team meetings check the progress. IT and AV teams jump in as soon as the construction work is done, with furniture, planting, curtains and graphics the final touch. Your space is ready!

Step 5.
